We are now at the edge of quantum technology revolution, where it’s time to take amazing rules of quantum physics and use them to develop new technologies. Quantum technologies are expected to have applications across multiple future multi-billion-dollars industries in many markets and sectors.
Thanks to the some rich resources in quantum domain (such as coherence, entanglement, nonlocality, etc.) and even some no-go-theorems (such as uncertainty principle, no cloning theorem, etc.) quantum systems can be manipulated in ways inaccessible to classical systems.
The increasing ability to manipulate quantum systems is leading to devices with fundamentally superior performance and capabilities for communication, metrology, sensing, simulation and computing. Therefore, mastering quantum technologies is of strategic importance for future sciences and industries in our country. As a strategy for quantum, the RCQEPT is scheduling a long-term and large-scale plan to unlock the full potential of quantum technologies and accelerate their development and takeup into commercial products in Iran.
